Proper Range Decision for Each Level of the Individual Oral Health Index Score for Incremental Dental Care System in Prime of Manhood and Aged People

Abstract
Objective: Incremental dental care system is known as the best way to manage the dental patient with continuously in periodical, and it needed the oral heath index score for deciding the individual oral health level which is influence to management period, items of preventive cares and management fee. So, it was needed for the proper and reasonable range for each level of oral health index according to the age group.

Methods: 61 volunteers with 2 groups as prime of manhood and senile were participated in the clinical study in order to decide the proper and reasonable range for the individual oral health score according to the age group. Oral examination, X-ray taking and some laboratory tests were performed by use of Incremental Dental Care System computer program for all subjects and decided 5 scale ranges through the average and standard deviation at each age group.

Results: It was estimated as over 92.0 points for A level and 82.0 to 91.9 for B, 72.0 to 81.9 for C, 62.0 to 71.9 for D and under 62.0 for E level in prime of manhood age group and over 86.0 points for level A, 77.0 to 85.9 for B, 68.0 to 76.9 for C 59.0 to 67.9 for D and under 59.0 for E level in senile group.The factors for periodontal score were related with the other factors for oral disease and oral hygiene state.

Conclusion: It was recommended to use the reasonable range for estimating the oral health index in order to success for incremental dental care system.
